DUBUQUE, Iowa – Benedictine Men's Basketball turned a 4-point halftime deficit into a 70-59 win on Saturday afternoon over against Clarke University.
Benedictine outscored Clarke 44-29 in the second half, shooting 40 percent from the field while shooting 24 of 34 from the charity stripe.
The Ravens held the Pride to just a single 3-pointer through the first 4 minute of the second half as they erased the halftime deficit and pulled ahead by 6 points on a 3-pointer from Brycen LaRue.
Benedictine never looked back, building a double-figure lead on a jumper from Jack Vander Woude with 13 minutes remaining.
Clarke pulled back within 7 points inside the final 5 minutes of play, but Benedictine was able to keep the Pride at arm's length outscoring Clarke 9-6 over the final 4 minutes to seal the win.
Deaglan Sullivan led the Ravens in scoring with 15, scoring 9 points in the second half while hitting 5 of 7 free throws. Vander Woude finished with 11 points, also scoring 9 in the second half. Drew Purdy gave the Ravens a third double-digit scoring, scoring 12 off the bench with 2 3-pointers.
The Ravens return home for two straight, hosting Baker on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. for Student Appreciation Night, and then host Grand View at 4 p.m. Saturday for Alumni Day inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
