Benedictine Wrestling dropped a tough home dual on Thursday to rival Baker University.
The Ravens earned wins at 157, 174 and 285 pounds but couldn't overcome a slow start that saw (RV) Baker jump out to a 17-0 advantage after three matches en route to the 24-16 win over (RV) Benedictine.
Cristian Romas earned Benedictine's first win of the night, earning a 17-2 tech fall win at 157 pounds. That was followed by a comeback 16-10 decision from Rance Ridley at 174 pounds. Ridley trailed 8-3 headed into the third period and took the lead at 12-10 with 21.6 seconds remaining in the third before earning the 6-point decision.Â
Mason Harris capped off the night for the Ravens, earning a 5-1 win at heavyweight.
Benedictine remains at home on Monday, hosting No. 12 Missouri Valley College in their final schedule home dual of the season.
