Men's Basketball dropped a home contest Saturday evening.
The Ravens lost to the Grand View University Vikings, 66-55.
The Ravens had trouble finding an offensive rhythm against the Vikings, finishing the game shooting 33.9% from the field and just 16.7% from 3-point range.
Neither the Ravens nor the Vikings got off to a good start offensively Saturday afternoon. The Ravens shot 29% and the Vikings 32% in the opening half and were tied 24-24 at the break.
The Ravens trailed 19-13 late in the half but rattled off an 11-0 run to take the lead. However, the Vikings scored the final 5 points of the half, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, to send the teams into the break all squared up. The late basket was a sign of how things would go for the Vikings in the second half.
Grand View started to find their touch in the second half, knocking down 7-of-9 from long distance. An 8-0 Vikings run put the visitors up 43-35 halfway through the second half.
Brycen LaRue answered with an and-1 play to halt the Vikings streak, but Grand View answered with 6-straight points. Once again, it was LaRue with a 3-pointer to give the Ravens an answer.
The Ravens attempted to come back late in the game, but the deficit proved to be too much to overcome.
LaRue scored a team-high 19 points and added 7 rebounds.
Aiden Sullivan had 10 points as the only other Ravens player in double figures.
Deaglan Sullivan had 9 points and
Preston Reynolds scored 8 to go with 6 rebounds.
The Ravens (10-9, 6-5 Heart) will try to bounce back with a 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 game at Park University.
