ST. LOUIS – No. 3 Benedictine Women's Soccer set a new season high for goals on Saturday night, beating Missouri Baptist University 7-0 to earn their third straight win.
The win marked the Ravens fourth shutout in Heart play and their second straight on the season.
Defensively, the Ravens held the Spartans to just 1 shot – which came in the first half – and finished the match with a 42-1 shot advantage. Benedictine recorded 18 shots on goal en route to there 7 goals.
Jenna Wilken scored Benedictine's first goal during the 12th minute off an assist from Rowan Yows. Maura Maher made it 2-0 Benedictine during the 17th minute and Payton Vogelbacher scored an unassisted goal during the 33rd minute to give the Ravens a 3-0 lead at the half.
Benedictine scored its next three goals just over 4 minutes apart in the second half. Annie Wilken scored during the 53rd minute off an assist from Anna Bolger. Isabel Agudelo scored an unassisted goal during the 54th minute and Vogelbacher added her second goal of the match during the 57th minute off an assist from Addison Duckers.
Brynn Carroll capped off the scoring during the 72nd minute as Rows added her second assist of the match.
Campbell Gregory picked up the win in goal, recording the shutout as she played all 90 minutes with one save.
The Ravens remain on the road on Wednesday, traveling to Parkville, Mo., to take on Park University at 5 p.m.
