Men's Basketball draws William Penn in Quarterfinals of Heart Championship Tournament

No. 7 seed Ravens travel to No. 2 seed Statesmen on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

OVERLAND PARK – The seeds for the 2026 Heart Men's Basketball Tournament have been released by the conference office after the conclusion of the Heart regular season on Saturday.

This year's seeds were determined by a Point Rating System (PRS) that was selected and voted on by conference coaches, then approved by the Conference Board of Governors. The PRS was selected to determine the postseason field since this year's conference schedule did not feature a home-and-home series with each member school. Graceland earned the top seed with 4.3 points, followed by William Penn (4.25), Grand View (3.98), Missouri Baptist (3.65), Central Methodist (3.53), Missouri Valley (3.45), Benedictine (3.30) and Peru State (3.28).

As a result of the PRS standings, Benedictine has earned the No. 7 seed in the tournament after posting an overall record of 15-13 while going 11-9 in the Heart and finishing in tie for eighth place with Peru State in the final Heart standings.

The Ravens will hit the road for the Quarterfinals of the Heart Men's Basketball Championship Tournament on Tuesday, at 7 p.m., in Oskaloosa, Iowa, against the No. 2-seeded Statesmen after William Penn finished the year at 22-6 overall and 16-4 in the Heart.

Benedictine and William Penn only played one game against each other this season, the Heart opener for Benedictine back on Nov. 15. The Ravens earned a 78-73 win over the Statesmen.
