OVERLAND PARK – With the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, the Heart of America Athletic Conference has announced the 8-team field for the 2026 Women's Basketball Championship Tournament that gets underway on Wednesday.

Benedictine has earned the No. 2 seed and will be hosting No. 7 seed Missouri Baptist University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Tickets can be purchased ahead of the game at https://events.hometownticketing.com/boxoffice/benedictine/L2VtYmVkL2V2ZW50LzcxMQ==. 

This year's seeding was determined by using a Point Rating System (PRS) that was selected and voted on by conference coaches and then approved by the Heart Board of Governors. The PRS system determined the seeding this season due to the way the conference system was set up where not every team played a true home-and-home series this season. MNU earned the top seed in the tournament with a rating of 4.40 while Benedictine earned the second seed with a ratio of 4.35. The remaining seeds are as follows Grand View (4.2), Culver-Stockton (3.88), Missouri Valley (3.43), Peru State (3.43), Missouri Baptist (3.25) and Central Methodist (3.13).

As the No. 2 seed, Benedictine will host the Quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Non. 7 seed Missouri Baptist University. This year's Championship Tournament will continue on Fen. 28 with the Semifinals and the Championship Game is scheduled for March 3 with the locations of each round based on the higher seed in the pairings.

Benedictine posted an overall record of 22-6 this season while posting an 18-2 record in the Heart. Missouri Baptist, competing in their first season in the Heart, finished the season at 13-13 overall with a 12-8 conference record. The two teams only play one game against each other this season, inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium, on Dec. 13 where the Ravens earned a 75-48 win over the Spartans.

The winner of the Benedictine-Missouri Baptist game would take on the winner of the 3/6 pairing of Grand View vs. Peru State on Wednesday.
