CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The seeding held in the Campbellsville pod the bracket of the 2026 NAIA Women's Basketball First Round, presented by Ballogy, on Friday.
Pod host, and Liston Quadrant No. 2 seed Campbellsville earned a win over No. 15 seed Bryan before No. 10 seed Benedictine Women's Basketball dropped its game to No. 7 seed LSU-Shreveport 76-63 in the game of the day.
The Pilots held the Ravens to just 9 first-quarter points to lead by 7 points after the opening quarter. The Ravens were able to generate more offense in the second quarter, but the majority of that came at the free throw line as they connected on 7 of 8 to to close within 6 points before trailing 34-24 at the half.
Benedictine opened the second half, holding LSU-Shreveport for nearly the first 2 minutes of the third quarter while starting the half with 8 straight points to close within two points, 34-32. The Pilots stretched the lead back to 9 before a layup from Oen Deters and a pair of 3-pointers from Hattie Gros pulled the Ravens within 1 point, 43-42, with just over 3 minutes remaining in the third quarter.
LSU-Shreveport closed out the third quarter on a 13-0 run to lead by 14 headed to the fourth quarter and held a double-figure lead for all but just under 2 minutes of the fourth quarter when Kelli and Nicole Storck combined to score 7 straight for the Ravens to pull Benedictine back with 6, 61-55, halfway through the quarter.
Those six points were the closest the Ravens cut down the deficit as the Pilots outscored Benedictine 15-8 over the remainder of the game.
Benedictine won the battle of the boards, outrebounding LSU-Shreveport 40-28, which included 11 offensive rebounds that led to an 8-0 advantage in second chance points.
Kelli Storck led the Ravens with 19 points and 7 rebounds while Riley Bruggeman added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Deters finished with 9 while Gros was joined by Makayla Baughman with 8 points each.
The Ravens finish their season at 24-8 overall while the trip to the NAIA first round marked the program's third straight trip to the NAIA tournament and sixth overall appearance in the current format of the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
