Benedictine Softball continued Heart play over the weekend, taking three of four on the road over Mount Mercy University and Clarke University.
Saturday, the Ravens earned the sweep over Mount Mercy, 9-1 and 3-2, before splitting their Sunday series with Clarke. The earned a 2-1 win over the Pride in game one before falling 5-0 in game two.
In the Saturday sweep, the Ravens earned a run-rule shortened win in the opener behind 6 innings inside the circle from Bailey Selvage. Selvage held the Mustangs to just on unearned run off 2 hits with 7 strikeouts to earn the win.
At the plate, the Ravens finished with four extra-base hits. Ryan Cooper and Kaleigh Small each hit a home run while Rhiannon Martin and Reagan Enright each hit a double. Small finished with a team-high 4 RBI,
Benedictine scored three unanswered before giving up two runs late to set up the sweep over Mount Mercy.Â
Kaelyn Conrad earned the win in relief of Lily SinghDhillon before Selvage finished off the game for the save.
Lauren Gaitley recorded a double at the plate while Megan Forsman and Ashley Rindom each recorded an RBI.
Sunday, the Ravens opened with a win over Clarke on a pair of solo home runs from Martin and Alena Velilla.
Selvage went the distance inside the circle, recording 10 strikeouts over 7 innings while allowing 1 run off 2 hits as she surpassed 500 career strikeouts as a Raven.
The Ravens were never able to get going in the weekend finale, suffering the shutout loss to Clarke. SinghDhillon suffered the loss, giving up 2 runs off 5 hits over 2.2 innings before Lacey Foster finished off the final 3.1 innings of the loss.
Amanda Waymire went 2 for 3 at the plate as the only Ravens with two hits in the loss.
Benedictine returns home on Thursday for a 2 p.m. doubleheader with William Penn University back on Ravens Field.
