Biography

2013-2014: As a Junior Jallen was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year as well as earning honorable mention All-Heart honors. He played in 29 games, starting in four and averaged 7.1 ppg and 5.1 rebounds. He finished the season ranked No. 2 in NAIA Div. I in total blocks with 75 and was also No. 3 in blocks per game at 2.6.

2012-13: Played in 28 games for the Ravens, averaging 14.5 minutes per game. Led the team with 16 blocks while averaging 5.7 rebounds and 8 ppg.

2011-2012: Jallen had an impressive freshman year bringing a lot of energy off the Bench for BC. He played in 30 games, shot 65.5% from the field, he grabbed 79 rebounds, blocked 19 shots, and averaged 2.5 PPG.

Before Benedictine: Jalen averaged 12.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per game as a senior. Messersmith was selected to the Suburban Big 6 All-Conference First Team and he was voted to the All-Tournament Team for the Carl Junction Tournament. Jalen set the Single Season Blocks Record at Blue Springs High School and was voted MVP, Mr. Hustle, Mr. Defense and Mr. Basketball at Blue Springs High School.
