2013-2014: Played 32 games, starting in all 32. Averaged 8 ppg while recording a team high 40 steals while helping guide the team to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship and NAIA Div. I Tournament appearance. Earned third-team All-Heart honors.

2012-2013: Played in 30 games while averaging 10.1 ppg. Totaled 98 assists and 46 steals while shooting 45% from the floor. For his efforts he earned All-HAAC honors.

2011-2012: Jonathon had a very impressive first year at Benedictine. He played in 28 games, shot 35% from the field, tallied 12 assists, swiped 14 steals, and averaged 2.0 PPG.

Before Benedictine: John helped lead St. James Academy to a 14-8 overall record his senior season while averaging 17.1 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game. Anaekwe shot 48% from the field and 68% from the free throw line. He was selected to the Johnson County Sun – All Sun Boys Basketball Third Team, Shawnee Mission West Vikings Classic First Team, and was selected to play in the 33rd Annual All-Star Basketball Classic in Hutchinson, Kan.
