John Sosa

The 2020 season will mark the second full season for head coach John Sosa as the head coach for the Benedictine Men's Soccer head coach. He served as the interim head coach for the 2018 season after serving three years as an assistant.

Coach Sosa played collegiate at UMKC where he was a three-time All-Summit League player for the Roos. He was a first-team selection in his Junior and Senior seasons and was the league MVP his senior year.

Coach Sosa is currently a player for the Kansas City Comets indoor soccer team in Kansas City, Mo., where he has played since 2011. Sosa helped guide the Comets to the 2013 MISL Championship. He is also currently on the United States Futsal National Team and was a member of the 2013 team that won the Four Nations Cup in England.

He has served as a volunteer assistant coach for UMKC in 2011-2012 while also serving as the Director of Coaching for the Summit Soccer Club in Lee's Summit, Mo., from 2011-2017. In 2016 he joined the Benedictine College coaching staff as an Assistant Coach and moved up to become the Head Coach in 2018. He holds a US Soccer Federation B License.

John resides in Kansas City along with his wife and two young daughters
