Matthew Ricci joined the Benedictine College Women’s Soccer coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant in the fall of 2023. After earning his Master of Business Administration, he was promoted to a full-time assistant coach for the women’s program and goalkeeper coach for the men’s team.
During his time at Benedictine, Ricci has primarily focused on goalkeeper development. He coached the women’s starting goalkeeper to consecutive First Team All-Conference honors in 2023 and 2024 while also overseeing the program’s social media.
Since transitioning to a full-time role, Ricci has expanded his responsibilities under Head Coach Hunter Nail, contributing to recruiting, training sessions, opponent scouting reports, team travel logistics, meal planning, and overall program operations. He has also broadened his coaching experience on the men’s side, where he trains and develops the Benedictine men’s goalkeepers.
In addition to his collegiate coaching duties, Ricci serves as the girls’ goalkeeper coach at St. James Academy in Lenexa, Kansas.
Prior to Benedictine, Ricci earned his bachelor’s degree from Midland University, where he spent four years as a goalkeeper for the men’s soccer program.
A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Ricci resides in Atchison while continuing his coaching career at Benedictine College.
