Maya Barclay joined the Benedictine College Athletic Training staff in 2022. She serves the Raven student-athlete community while also acting as a dedicated preceptor, mentoring surrounding area athletic training students, including those in Benedictine's Athletic Health Care program.

Barclay maintains an advanced athletic training skillset backed by prominent industry certifications:

• Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT): State of Kansas (Since 2022)
• BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC): Board of Certification (Since 2022)
• Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES): National Academy of Sports Medicine (Certified 2026)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified: (Since 2020)

Prior to her arrival at Benedictine, Barclay gained valuable clinical experience in 2022 working as a PRN Athletic Trainer for Select Physical Therapy in Des Moines, Iowa.

Barclay earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Grand View University in 2022 and her Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Physiology (Emphasis in Health Studies) from the University of Iowa in 2020.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Barclay currently resides in Atchison with her husband, Wade, and their two cats, Rocky and Aurora. Outside of the training room, she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
