Hunter Nail is the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Benedictine College, where he has quickly established a competitive, high-performing program built on standards of excellence, discipline, and player development. In his first two seasons leading the Ravens, Nail has guided the team to a 26–13–3 overall record, highlighted by two conference tournament semifinal appearances and one national tournament appearance.
Under his leadership, Benedictine Women’s Soccer has developed into a dynamic attacking side, scoring 91 goals across two seasons (36 in year one and 55 in year two) while also showing steady defensive improvement, reducing goals against from 21 to 19. His teams have produced 12 All-Conference selections, including 4 First Team, 3 Second Team, and 5 Third Team honorees, reflecting the program’s growth and individual player development.
Prior to Benedictine, Nail spent six seasons at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, where he played a key role in elevating the program to new heights. During his tenure, the program achieved its best record in school history at the time (9–9–2), reached the conference tournament in 5 of 6 seasons, and produced consistent year-over-year improvement. He was instrumental in transforming the defensive unit, helping reduce goals against from 64 to 23 in his first season with the program, while also contributing to record-setting offensive output, including 37 goals scored in Fall 2022. Across his time at TAMUCC, the program compiled a 60–32–10 overall record.
Before his time in Texas, Nail coached at Fort Hays State University, where he was part of the staff that won the 2012 MIAA Tournament in just the program’s second year. The program went on to make two NCAA Tournament appearances in its first six seasons, including a Sweet 16 run in 2016. That same year, the team reached as high as No. 14 in the national rankings, with a defense ranked among the top 20 in the nation for postseason goals against average and finishing the regular season ranked in the top 10 defensively in NCAA Division II.
Coach Nail earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Performance from Fort Hays State University and went on to complete his Master of Science in Kinesiology at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.
