Men's Soccer continues Top 25 climb

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Prior to taking the field for its third conference match of the season, the Raven men's soccer team moved up one notch in the latest edition of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Benedictine moved up from a tie for No. 15 last week to sole possession of No. 14 this week.

The move by Benedictine inside the top 15 gives the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) three team inside the top 15 with MNU holding the highest ranking at No. 9. Missouri Valley, the Ravens next opponent on the schedule after a Tuesday evening match with Avila University, is next at No. 12.

Only the Southern States Athletic Conference with four teams in the top 25, has more ranked members than the HAAC. Four other conferences landed a pair of teams in the latest Top 25.

With a streak of seven straight shutouts, the Ravens enter the week ranked No. 2 in the NAIA in shouts per game (0.730) and No. 2 in total shutouts with eight.

Raven keeper Taylor Vinnage (Soph., Overland Park) ranks No. 3 in the NAIA in goals against per game average, giving up .49 goals per game this season.
