The Raven softball team suffered its second sweep at the hands of a conference opponent on Monday afternoon, as MNU took two from Benedictine at the BC Softball Field.
MNU earned a 8-4 win over Benedictine in the opener and then picked a run-rule shorted game two win 12-4 in six innings.
Katelyn Nill (Jr., Lenexa) suffered the loss in the opener, giving up eight runs off 1- hits over four innings. Annie Turbyfill (Fr., Chillocothe, Mo.) threw the final three innings in relief, holding MNU scoreless off two hits.
At the plate, shortstop Megan Eldridge (Soph., Arvada, Colo.) continued to swing a hot bat going 4 for 4 with a triple a double and two runs scored.
Second baseman Katie Rickleffs (Fr., Topeka) and Nill each added a two hit game in the loss.
In game two, Mallory Goulding (Fr., Plainfield, Ill.) suffered the loss, giving up six runs off seven hits over three innings.
The Ravens picked up three extra base hits in the loss.
Turbyfill and left fielder Allison McCormick (Jr., Pittsburg) each recorded a home run while catcher Melani Braun (Fr., Columbus, Neb.) added a double.
Benedictine returns to the field at 3 p.m. Tuesday with a conference doubleheader against Avila University.
