Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleyball competes at Bellevue Labor Day Classic

BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Raven volleyball team traveled to Bellevue University on Friday and Saturday to compete in one the regions top early-season tournaments on Friday and Saturday.

Benedictine competed throughout but just could quite scratch home a win as they fell in all four matches, including their finale against NAIA No. 23 Northwestern (Iowa).

Benedictine opened the tournament with their second match in five days against Briar Cliff University in the opening match on Friday. BCU earned a 25-21, 25-21, 25-19 win over the Ravens. In their second match on Friday, the Ravens took on Ottawa University and earned 25-19 win in game one before dropping three straight, 25-18, 25-12, 26-24.

On Saturday, the Ravens took on College of the Ozarks in their third match before wrapping up agianst Northwestern. Ozarks earned a 25-18, 25-12, 25-17 win before the Ravens fell 25-21, 25-14, 25-17 in the tournament finale.

Over their four matches, the Ravens recorded a total of 117 kills with three hitters surpassing 20 kills. Morgan Ogorzaly led the way with 24 followed by Ashley Voudrie with 22 and Karlie Dalton with 21.

Setter Emilee Clark tallied 72 assists over the tournament while Allisyn Dalton added 25.

Defensively Chelsea Beckman led the back line with 51 digs while Lauren Eggen added 29. Clark, Ogorzaly and Allisyn Dalton each added 20 digs.

Ogorzaly finished the tournament with two solo blocks and three block asists while Ashley Gray added six block assists. Megan Ruzicka recorded five block assists while Voudrie added a solo block and four block assists.

Benedictine has off until Friday and Saturday when they travel to Baldwin City to compete in the Baker University Invite. Check the women's volleyball schedule page for more details on the two-day tournament schedule.
