As the regular season hits the home stretch, the Raven Softball team hosted Evangel University in a battle of programs fighting for a top spot in the upcoming Heart of America Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament.

Evangel (19-12, 10-6 Heart) handed Benedictine (21-14, 8-6 Heart) just its second sweep of the conference season winning game one, 3-2, and then outlasting the Ravens 4-2 in game two in nine innings.

In the opener, Katie Ricklefs earned the start inside the cirle for the Ravens. She went the distance, giving up three runs off six hits with six strikeouts.

At the plate, Jenna Fitzpatrick and Alexis Richardson each recorded a pair of hits for the Ravens. Richardson recorded the Ravens only extra-base hit with a triple and RBI. Lindsay Profitt added the Ravens remaining RBI.

In game two, Annie Turbyfill earned the start inside the circle and pitched a complete game in the loss. She gave up four runs off 10 hits with four strikeouts in nine innings of work.

At the plate, Richardson added another two-hit game while Megan Eldredge added a 2-for3 effort with a double and RBI. Kellie Bachkora drove in the Ravens remaining run.

Weather permitting the Ravens wrap up the regular seaosn on the road with a doubleheader today at Peru State College and a doubleheader on Sunday at Graceland University.
