OLATHE – The Raven Women's Soccer team suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday at the hands of the MNU Pioneers.
After playing through 90 minutes in a scoreless draw, MNU (9-0-1, 5-0 Heart) was able to score during the 93rd minute to hand Benedictine (10-1-1, 4-1 Heart) a 1-0 loss.
The loss was the second straight road loss at MNU for the Ravens after Benedictine went 1-0-1 against the Pioneers over their previous two meetings at the BC Soccer Complex.
The Pioneers finished with a 15-12 advantage in shots while the Ravens recorded five shots on goal. Nicole Kelly led the Ravens with four shots on goal while Emily Ambuul added the fifth.
In her second straight start in goal, Olivia Berry finished with three saves – all of which preserved the scoreless draw in the second half – to suffer her first loss as she gave up the golden goal to MNU's Maria Garcia.
The Ravens remain on the road Saturday, traveling to Marshall, Mo., to take on Missouri Valley College at 6 p.m.
