MARSHALL, Mo. – The No. 4-ranked Raven Women's Soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Missouri Valley College on a weather-shortened match.
Benedictine (10-1-2, 4-1-1 Heart) scored early and then Missouri Valley (7-4-1, 4-1-1 Heart) scored late before a weather delay during the 92nd minute ended the match in a draw.
Nicole Kelly scored the Ravens goal during the fifth minute of play. Kelly knocked in a one-touch shot off a deflected corner from Olivia Meyers to give the Ravens the early lead.
The Vikings didn't answer until the 87th minute and no stats where recorded in the first golden-goal period before the match went into a weather delay.
The Ravens finished with a 12-9 advantage in shots while finishing with four shots on goal.
Olivia Berry went the distance in goal, finishing with two saves while giving up one goal in the draw.
The Ravens return home on Tuesday as they host Grand View University at 5 p.m. Tuesday's match marks the program's annual Breast Cancer Awareness Match. Raven supporters are encouraged to wear their pink Raven gear to the match so they can participate in the halftime cross-bar challenge.
