Volleyball earns road sweep over Culver-Stockton College

CANTON, Mo. – The Raven Volleyball team took the trip up to Culver-Stockton College on Saturday for a cross-divisional match aginast the Wildcats and walked off the floor with a sweep for the second time in conference play this season.

Benedictine (13-9, 8-3 Heart) needed extra points in the second set to beat Culver (7-13, 1-9 Heart) but took care of business in the third set to earn a 25-16, 28-26, 25-18 win over the Wildcats.

The Ravens needed just 27 kills to earn the sweep. Fleur Wesselink led the attack with nine, followed by Elizabeth Nobert with seven.

Paxtone Throne set up the offensive attack, which finished the match with a .125 attack percentage, with 21 of the teams 25 assists.

Defensively, the Ravens back line was led by Abby Brown with 13 digs while Wesselink added 12. As a team, the Ravens finished with 49 digs. At the net, the Ravens finished with four team blocks. Nobert finished with two block assists while Sydney Wiedenmann added a solo block and block assist.

The Ravens remain on the road for their next Heart match as they travel to Olathe on Tuesday to take on MNU at 7 p.m. before stepping out of conference play on Thursday to host Friends University at 7 p.m.
