The No. 2-ranked Raven Women's Soccer team opened up Heart of America Athletic Conference play with their sixth shutout of the season on Wednesday night with a 6-0 win over Evangel University.
Benedictine (7-0-1, 1-0-0 Heart) limited Evangel (4-2-1, 0-1-0 Heart) to just three shots with only one shot on goal en route to the shutout.
The Ravens struck quickly as reigning Heart Offensive Player of the Week scored two goals for the Ravens inside the first 16 minutes of play. Both goals were created by Kelly as she scored the firsts from the top of the box while the second came as she dribbled in from midfield and scored in inside the near post from just outside the box.
Kelly aided the the Ravens third goal of the night during the 59th minute when Emily Ambuul worked a give-and-goal with Kelly before she knocked in a one-touch shot on the ground.
Within a minute of Ambuul's goal, Kelly capped off her scoring effort as she scored on a cross through the box by Abbie Hair where she sent a one-touch shot inside the far post.
The final two goals of the match came within a minute as well. Olivia Meyers scored off a free kick during the 68th minute before Emma Strecker chested in a corner kick from Meyers during the 69th minute.
Benedictine finished the match with a 29-11 advantage in shots while tallying 17 shots on goal.
Ashley Rehagen earned the win playing in to the 65th minute before giving way to Olivia Berry who recorded one save in 25 minutes in goal.
The Ravens continue their home stand at 5 p.m. Saturday as they host Heart opponent Baker University as part of Benedictine's annual Family Weekend.
