Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Second-half goal pushes (15) Women's Soccer past Missouri Valley, 2-1

A goal from Emily Ambuul during the 60th minute proved to be the game-winner for (15) Raven Women's Soccer on Saturday as they earned a 2-1 win over Missouri Valley College on Legacy Field.

Locked up a 1-1, Ambuul took advantage of a pass from Sydney Routh to put the Ravens on top. Routh made a run toward the near-side post and crossed it through the box to a streaking Ambuul who buried it inside the far post past Vikings keeper Marina Massaguer.

The Ravens gave up a goal during the eighth minute as Laura Cardosa was able to bounce a shot off the post just past an outstretched Ashley Rehagen.

Benedictine battled back to even the score during the 32nd minute. After trading a pair of shots and a near miss from Isabelle Wilhelm, Ambuul made a run down the far side and was able to cross to Nicole Kelly who was able to beat Massaguer.

Olivia Berry took over in goal for the Ravens in the second half and recorded three saves to help keep the Ravens in position to earn the win. She recorded her final save of the game during the 90th minute to help the Ravens earn the one-goal win.

Benedictine (12-4, 6-3 Heart) remains at home for their next match, hosting Culver-Stockton College at 5 p.m. next Saturday as part of Benedictine's annual Homecoming Weekend.
