BALDWIN CITY – The Raven Volleyball team earned a regular-season sweep over Baker University on Tuesday night as they picked up a 3-0 road win over the Wildcats.
Benedictine (14-17, 9-6 Heart) hit .371 for their highest attack percentage in conference play this season and second-highest overall. As a team, they finished with 52 kills, their most in a three-set match this season.
Two players reached double figures in kills for the Ravens as Fleur Wesselink finished with 19 while Kate Hanson added 11. Haylie Dickerson just missed double figures with nine kills
Paxton Throne anchored the Ravens offensive attack with 39 assists as the team finished with 47.
Defensively, Maria Duran led the Ravens with 12 digs while Hailey Folkers finished with eight. At the net, Donetta Cage and Elizabeth Nobert finished with three block assists each.
The Ravens close out the regular season with two straight home matches. First, they celebrate Senior Day on Saturday as they host (14) Central Methodist University. They wrap up the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 29 when they host Evangel University.
With those two matches remaining, the Ravens are currently tied for second place in the Heart South standings. The top three teams in the standings for both the Heart South and Heart North earn a bid into the Heart Postseason Tournament while the next best two overall teams earn the final two spots in the tournament.
