Women's Volleyball dropped its regular-season finale Tuesday night in Atchison, losing to the Evangel Crusaders in straight sets.
Evangel won 25-15, 25-16 and 25-16.
The Ravens (14-9, 9-8 Heart South) settle into the fourth spot in the Heart South ahead of the postseason conference tournament.
Tuesday's first set belonged to the Crusaders as they took an early lead which they held onto for the majority of the set, winning 25-15. Evangel dominated the attack, notching 19 kills and had just one attack error. The Ravens had 8 kills and 5 errors in the first set.
The Ravens hung with the Crusaders for the first half of the second set, trailing 14-13 at one point. However, Evangel closed the set on an 11-3 run to take it 25-16, powering to a 2-0 lead in the match.
The third set was nearly a mirror image of the second set. The Ravens were right there with the Crusaders, trailing 16-14 at one point, but the visitors again found a way to power their way to a strong finish. The 25-16 third set win closed out the match.
The Ravens finished with a .134 attack percentage while the Crusaders recorded a .394 mark.
Leading the way for the Ravens was Fleur Wesselink with 10 kills and 10 digs. Taea Kapels had 13 assists and an ace while Hannah Thomazin led the team with 13 digs.
The Ravens will begin the Heart Postseason Tournament on the road Nov. 9. Their destination is unknown at this point as there are still a number of schools that have yet to wrap up the Heart regular season.
