WESTFIELD, Ind. – The (3) Raven Women's Lacrosse Spring Break trip continued today as Benedictine took on (RV) Marian University.
After Marian (3-1) matched the first goal of the game scored by Benedictine (5-0), the Ravens scored three unanswered en route to a 18-7 win.
After Mary McEnerney scored the first goal of the game, Molly Muehlebach scored the next three goals for the Ravens to pull Benedictine at arm's length.
Benedictine pushed ahead by eight goals at the half, 11-3, and then added seven more goals in the second half as they earned the win.
The Ravens finished with a 42-22 advantage in shots which included a 31-19 advantage in shots on goal.
Muehlebach led the Ravens in scoring with six goals. Reigning KCAC Offensive Player of the Week Natalie Wechter added five goals while Aiden McEnerney finished with three. Kacey Moore scored twice with Mary McEnerney and Anne Marie Mannella each scored once.
Emily Ruhland led the Ravens with three assists while Taryn St. Louis and Mary McEnerney tallied two. Wechter, Muehlebach, Aiden McEnerney and Moore added one assist each.
St. Louis earned the win in goal for the Ravens as they finished with 12 saves as defensively the Raven forced Marian into 22 turnovers. Muehlebach also led the Ravens with five caused turnovers while Aiden McEnerney finished with three.
The Ravens remain on the road Saturday as they take on (6) Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Mich. at 11 a.m.
