KANSAS CITY, M0. – Four of the top five teams in the NAIA remained unchanged on Wednesday morning when the Association released the first regular-season Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
Benedictine, who is off to a 5-1-0 start to the season remained locked at No. 5 despite their win over Southeastern (Fla.).
William Carey (Miss.) remained at No. 1 with all 18 first-place votes and were followed by Kaiser (Fla.) at No. 2 and Southeastern at No. 3. Martin Methodist (Tenn.) was the newcomer to the top five jumping past Benedictine for the No. 4 ranking.
The Ravens are one of two teams from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in this week's poll. Central Methodist University moved into the poll at No. 21 after starting their season out at 5-0. MNU and Missouri Valley College are listed in the others' receiving votes category to round out the Heart members in this week's poll.
In addition to the ranked conference opponents and Southeastern out of the Ravens non-conference schedule, Hastings College moved up to No. 9 at 2-1 with one of those two wins coming over Benedictine. Columbia (Mo.) College, Benedictine's next opponent, was also listed in the others' receiving votes category.
As a team, the Ravens lead the NAIA in total assists with 31 and total goals with 32. They also rank No. 2 in assists per game with 5.2 and No. 3 in total shutouts with four.
The Ravens travel to Columbia, Mo., to take on the Cougars today at 4:30 p.m.
