Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball earns regular-season sweep over Grand View with 85-58 win

Men's Basketball dominated from start to finish in Monday's home win against the Grand View Vikings.

The Ravens led by 19 at the half and went on to win 85-58.

The Ravens had their shooting touch in the first half, knocking down 69 percent of their shots to take a 51-32 lead into halftime. Jayden Temme (14 points) and Nysir Scott (10 points) led the way for the Ravens, but nine different players scored in the first half.

The Ravens were nearly perfect behind the 3-point line, hitting 6-of-7 attempts from deep. They dished out 11 assists on 20 made field goals and turned the ball over just five times in the opening 20 minutes. The Ravens also did good work in the paint in the first half, picking up 28 points inside.

While they weren't as hot on the offensive end in the second half, the Ravens still out-scored the Vikings 34-26 in the final 20 minutes. They controlled the boards, picking up 14 more rebounds than Grand View.

Temme's 24 points led all scorers while Scott finished with 14 points and four rebounds off the bench. The Ravens also had Matt Austin (11) and Tyson Cathy (10) in double figures as 10 different players scored in the game. Chris Jackson picked up five assists for the Ravens while also scoring 8 points.

The win caps off a tough stretch of the schedule for the Ravens (12-9, 10-5 Heart). The Ravens went 4-2 through six games in two weeks. The 10-5 conference record has the Ravens in third place heading into the final full month of the conference schedule.

Making Monday's win even better is the fact the Ravens can now take some time to rest up before their next game, a Saturday, Feb. 1 away game at Culver-Stockton College. When the two teams met in December, the Ravens came away with an 18-point win.
