MARSHALL, Mo. – The (2) Raven Women's Lacrosse team opened defense of their KCAC title on Saturday with a solid road win over Missouri Valley College.
Benedictine (2-1, 1-0 KCAC) scored eight goals in each half en route to a 16-6 win over the Vikings.
The Ravens finished with a 37-21 advantage in shots with 31 shots on goal.
Natalie Wechter led the Ravens scoring efforts, finishing with four goals and two assists. Aiden McEnerney and Kacey Moore finished with three goals each while Molly Muehlebach and Mary McEnerney added two each. Clare Ryan and Anne Marie Mannella added one goal each to round out the scoring efforts. Moore led the Ravens with three assists while Mary McEnerney finished with two. Aiden McEnerney, Mannella and Muehlebach added one assist each.
Defensively, Taryn St. Louis finished with 10 saves in goal for the Ravens as she went the distance. Of the 23 turnovers committed by the Vikings, the Ravens were credited with 16 caused turnovers. Erin Rauber led the defensive effort with four caused turnovers, Aiden McEnerney and Wechter finished with three each.
The Ravens travel to Leavenworth for their next game on March 4 as they remain in KCAC play to take on the University of St. Mary at 5 p.m.
