Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

(18) Men's Basketball returns home with split at Cattle Classic

SEWARD, Neb. – Men's Basketball returned to the road for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday as part of the Cattle Classic hosted by Concordia Univesity.

Friday, the Ravens earned an 82-63 win over Hastings College before suffering their first loss of the season on Saturday at the hand of Concordia, 68-53.

Against Hastings, the Ravens finished the game with a 54.1 percent effort from the floor with 11 3-pointers. They held the Broncos to 39.1 percent from the floor while scoring 19 points off 10 turnovers.

After leading at the break by 10 points, the Ravens warmed up to 64.3 percent from the field in the second half to pull away for the win.

Eric Krus led the Ravens with a game-high 19 points hitting 7 of 14 from the floor with 5 3-pointers. Tyson Cathy and Jaiden Bristol added 12 points to round out the Ravens leading scorers.

Against Concordia, the Ravens never got going offensively until the second half. They finished the game with a 30.6 percent effort from the field, while the Bulldogs held them to just 5 3-pointers.

After trailing by nearly 20 points at the break, the Ravens limited the Bulldogs to just 26 second-half points outscoring them by 2. That effort made the game closer down the stretch, but the Ravens just couldn't overcome the slow start.

Krus finished the game with a game-high 18 points while Bristol finished with 16 as only two Ravens finished in double figures.

Benedictine returns home on Thursday to host Avila University at 7 p.m. on Dugan Jones Court inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
