Men's Lacrosse earns shutout win over Morningside in KCAC play

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – For the second time in program history, the (RV) Raven Men's Lacrosse team earned a shutout on Saturday.

Not only did they earn the shutout win, but they also matched a program-high for single-game scoring with their 24-0 win over KCAC newcomer Morningside College.

The Ravens spread around their offensive effort with 10 players tallying at least one goal. Jordan Rodriguez got the scoring started inside the first minute of the game. By the time the horn sounded on the first quarter, the Ravens had extended their lead to 11-0.

Defensively, Benedictine held Morningside to just one shot and that didn't come until the fourth quarter when the game was well in hand. The Ravens forced the Mustangs into 16 turnovers while finishing with 11 caused turnovers. Connor Buckley and Michael Bookwalter finished with two caused turnovers each. The Ravens also controlled possession winning 25 of 29 faceoffs. Liam Waldron went 13 of 16 on faceoffs while Joseph Bianchi was 5 of 5.

Brady Guck led the offensive attack with 7 goals and 2 assists. Jack Kandoth added 4 goals while Rodriguez finished with three. Bianchi, James Carson, and Joseph Doyle all scored two goals each. James Withers, Peter Janke, Sean Molyneux, and Curtis Wesley scored one goal each. Carson and Wesley added two assists while Withers, Aiden Richardson, and Rodriguez finished with one assist each.

Dustin Reis and Jacob Hammers split time in goal but didn't see a shot throughout the game.

Benedictine returns home on Wednesday as they host William Penn University at 4 p.m. on Legacy Field.
