(9) Central Methodist downs (RV) Women's Soccer 2-1 in Heart Semifinals

FAYETTE, Mo. – For the third straight year the (RV) Women's Soccer team matched up with (9) Central Methodist University in the Heart of America Atheltic Conference Tournament.

CMU made it two straight with a 2-1 win in regulation on Wednesday night after two weather delays pushed back the start of the match two hours.

Wednesday's match was also a rematch of the season opener for both teams, but this time around the Eagles earned the win.

Benedictine struck first scoring during the 52nd minutes off an unassisted goal from Annabelle Hoog.

Central Methodist scored what proved to be the game-winner during the 76th minute to send the Eagles into the Heart Championship Match.

Ashley Rehagen and Olivia Berry split the match in goal. Berry played the second half and recorded three saves.

Benedictine will now wait until Monday, April 12 for the NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament Selection Show at 11 a.m. to learn if they will qualify for the NAIA Opening Round as an at-large selection.
