CANTON, Mo. – Volleyball dropped its second straight Heart match on the road on Friday, falling to Culver-Stockton College in four sets.
Benedictine won set one 25-18 before CSC won three straight to give the Ravens their first loss in Heart cross-divisional play.
The Ravens finished the match with a .239 attack percentage, the best between the two teams, but just couldn't pull ahead after the first set. Haylie Dickerson led the Ravens with 17 kills, followed by Regan Bruggeman with 15. Sabrina Oncins added 8 to round out the top hitters for Benedictine.
Haley Cahill helped anchor the attack, finishing the match with 27 assists, while Marissa Mantz added 24.
Defensively, Kristijana Istuk led four players in double figures in digs with 24. Mary Pat Taylor recorded 20 while Oncins and Mantz added 17 and 11 respectively. Bruggeman, Dickerson, and Maura Lickteig added 2 block assists each while Taylor finished with 1 solo block and 1 block assist.
The Ravens remain on the road Tuesday traveling to Springfield, Mo., to take on Evangel University. In their first meeting with the Valor, the Ravens won inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium 3-2 back on Sept. 30.
