PARKVILLE, Mo. – Raven Men's Basketball closed out their regular season earning a season sweep against Park University.
Benedictine hit 12 3-pointers and finished the game shooting over 50 percent from the floor and beyond the 3-point arc as they earned a 75-46 win over the Pirates.
The first 3-pointer of the game came from Chris Jackson as he scored the game's first points off an assist from Jaiden Bristol. With the assist, Bristol took over as the Ravens all-time career assists leader. He finished the game with 9 assists to move his career total to 656 breaking the previous record of 648 held by Raven Hall of Famer Jason Wyrick, who played for the Ravens from 1989-1993.
The Ravens held the Heart's sixth-highest scoring team to a new season-low point total as they earned their third straight win to close out the regular season.
After playing to a 5-5 tie within the first four minutes of play, Benedictine went on a 19-2 run to push their lead to 17 points just midway through the first half. Benedictine held Park to just two points over a 7-minute stretch to pull away in the half. They finished the half shooting 60 percent from the floor with 9 3-pointers while holding the Pirates to just 7 field goals and a 31.8 percent effort from the floor.
Benedictine led by 25 points at the half and led by as much as 35-points before finishing with the 33-point win.
Matt Austin led the Ravens with a game-high 25 points as he hit 10 of 14 from the field and 5 of 8 from beyond the arc. Eric Krus chipped in 10 points while Bristol finished with 8 points to go with his assist total.
With the conference schedule drawing to a close today, the Heart Postseason Tournament is scheduled to begin on Feb. 23 with the top four seeds in the 8-team tournament hosting the Quarterfinal round.
