Indiana Tech used a 6-goal third quarter to overcome an early deficit on Saturday against Men's Lacrosse.
The No. 10-ranked Ravens dropped their second to start the season to the No. 7-ranked Warriors by the final of 14-10.
Brady Guck netted the game's first goal just over four minutes into the game before putting the Ravens ahead early. After Indiana Tech matched that goal, the Ravens scored three straight as they pulled ahead 4-2 headed to the second quarter. An evenly matched second quarter allowed the Ravens to take a 7-5 lead into the break.
In the third quarter, the Warriors took full advantage of possession, despite splitting the faceoffs with the Ravens. Benedictine committed seven turnovers in the period, giving Indiana Tech extra possessions as they rattled off seven straight goals extending into the start of the fourth quarter.
Each team scored three goals during the final 15 minutes of the game as Indiana Tech was able to hang on for the win.
The Warriors won 15 of 16 faceoffs as both teams finished with 16 turnovers each. They also held the advantage in shots, 40-25, which included a 15-2 advantage in the fatal third quarter.
Guck led the Ravens with four goals and two assists while Joseph Doyle added three goals. Joseph Bianchi and James Carson finished with a goal and an assist while Aiden Richardson accounted for the remaining goal with Michael Hogan recording the final two assists.
Duncan Loud suffered the loss in goal while tallying 14 saves. After not facing a shot in the first quarter, he turned away four shots in the second quarter to help keep Benedictine in front at the half. After recording just two saves in the third, he responded with six saves in the fourth quarter which allowed Benedictine to mount their comeback effort.
No time to think about the loss, the Ravens return to action on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. as they host Morningside University in their KCAC opener.
