LEAVENWORTH – It took six minutes on Wednesday for the No. 6 Raven Women's Lacrosse team to reach 10 goals against the University of St. Mary.
Benedictine finished off the first quarter with a 12-0 advantage en route to a 24-1 win over the Spires to move to 2-0 in KCAC play.
The Ravens finished with a 37-3 advantage in shots over the Spires as 11 players scored goals for the Ravens. Aiden McEnerney and Margaux Gelbach finished with four goals each. Natalie Wechter, Elizabeth Conley, and Gemma Weinberg added three goals each. Eric Odell scored twice while Claudia Garcia, Clare Ryan, Rianna England, Brooke Rauber, and Christen Mcihaelides scored one goal each. Grace Simonson and Wechter led the team with three assists each as the Ravens recorded 15 total assists. Ryan and Odell finished with two assists while Garcia, McEnerney, Conley, Weinberg, and Michaelides added one each.
Gianna Stalletti earned her third win of the season in goal, playing the first half before Quincy Dolan finished the game. Defensively, the Ravens recorded five caused turnovers with Ryan recording two. The Ravens earned a 19-4 advantage in draw controls led by Wechter with six while Odell and Gelbach finished with five and six respectively.
The Ravens hit the road for Spring Break. Their first stop will be in Marietta, Ga., on March 8 to take on No. 4 Life (Ga.). They then travel to Waleska, Ga., on March 10 to take on No. 5 Reinhardt (Ga.) before closing out the trip with a return trip to Marietta on March 11 to take on (RV) Marian (Ind.) back on the Life campus.
