Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 6 Women's Lacrosse upsets No. 4 Life (Ga.) 14-13

MARIETTA, Ga. – No. 6 Raven Women's Lacrosse scored two goals in the final 17 seconds on Tuesday night to knock off No. 4 Life University, 14-13.

Trailing 7-4 at the half, the Ravens opened up their offense in the third quarter to score 6 goals before finishing off the game with a 4-goal fourth quarter to cap off the comeback.

The Ravens took a two-goal lead into the fourth quarter. Life scored two straight, the second of which came with 48 seconds remaining in the game, to take a 13-12 lead. Aiden McEnerney scored the final two goals of the game, the second of which found the back of the net with one second remaining in the game to cap off the Ravens win.

Life matched an early third-quarter goal from Clare Ryan before the Ravens rattled off five straight goals to regain the lead. Eric Odell, Margaux Gelbach and Natalie Wechter combined to score the five goals with Wechter giving the Ravens the lead at 9-8 with just over two minutes remaining in the quarter. 

Wechter led the Ravens with 7 goals and an assist. McEnerney finished with 3 goals and an assist while Ryan added 2 goals and 2 assists. Odell finished with two assists to go along with her goal.

Gianna Stalletti earned the win in goal for the Ravens. She finished with 9 saves four of which came in the fourth quarter. The Ravens tallied 15 caused turnovers defensively. Gelbach and Wechter finished with 4 each while McEnerney added 2. Wechter led the team with 6 draw controls and 7 ground balls while Rianna England finished with 5 ground balls.

Benedictine continues their Spring Break trip on Thursday with a trip to Waleska, Ga., to take on No. 5 Reinhardt (Ga.).
