(6) Women's Lacrosse earns 20-goal road win over Culver-Stockton College

CANTON, Mo. – Women's Lacrosse remained undefeated in KCAC play on Sunday with a win over Culver-Stockton College on the road.

No. 6 Benedictine improved to 7-1 on the season and 4-0 in conference play with their 22-2 win over the Wildcats.

Erica Odell led the offensive attack for the Ravens, who finished with 43 shots, with 6 goals. Odell scored the first goal of the game off an assist from Elizabeth Conley and the Ravens were off. Headed to the second quarter, the Ravens lead stood at 8-1. Clare Ryan, Margaux Gelbach, and Natalie Wechter scored the first three goals of the second quarter to start the running clock as Benedictine pushed their lead to 11-1. With her second goal of the game, Wechter moved to 200 career goals for the Ravens. She finished the game with five goals while adding three assists.

Gelbach, Aiden McEnerney, and Ryan finished with 3 goals each while Ryan led the Ravens with 6 assists. Grace Simonson and Rianna England scored a goal each while Conley finished with 2 assists. McEnerney and Gelbach added an assist each to round out the Ravens offensive efforts.

Defensively, the Ravens dominated possession, winning 21 of 28 draw controls. Wechter recorded 9 draw controls, followed by Odell with 7 and Gelbach with 4. Odell led the Ravens with 4 caused turnovers while she also recorded a team-high 7 ground balls. Conley and Ryan added 5 ground balls each with England rounding out the efforts with 4. 

Gianna Stalletti and Quincy Dolan combined in goal for the Ravens. Stalletti played the first 30 minutes to earn the win while recording three saves. Dolan finished off the game, adding three saves of her own.

After playing six straight away from the campus, the Ravens return home for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday. They host KCAC games against St. Ambrose University at 4 p.m. Friday and then Clarke University at Noon on Saturday. In total, the Ravens will play three of their final four games on Legacy Field with the regular-season finale scheduled for April 12 against Ottawa University.
