Women's Lacrosse made a triumphant return to Legacy Field Friday afternoon.
The Ravens played at home for the first time since Feb. 26, defeating the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees 23-5.
The Ravens jumped on the Fighting Bees early, scoring in the first 30 seconds of action and leading 6-0 in the first 5 minutes of action. By the time the first-quarter buzzer sounded, the Ravens held an 11-0 lead.
It was a balanced attack for the Ravens as five different Ravens scored 2 or more goals in the opening half, taking a 15-1 lead at the break.
The Ravens out-shot SAU 22-7 in the first 30 minutes, a 17-5 advantage in shots on goal. Gianna Stalletti made 4 saves for the Ravens in the opening half, her only 30 minutes of action as the Ravens held a large lead at the break.
The Ravens maintained control of the contest in the second half, going on to the 18-goal win. Natalie Wechter and Erica Odell each scored 6 goals to lead the Ravens, followed by Aidan McEnerney's 4 goals, and Elizabeth Conley and Clare Ryan, who both scored 3 goals. Ryan notched 6 assists for the Ravens, McEnerney had 3 assists, while Odell and Grace Simonson had 2 assists each.
The win improves the (6) Ravens record to 8-1 on the season and 5-0 in KCAC play. SAU is now 5-2 and 2-2 in conference play.
It's a quick turnaround for the Ravens as they'll return to action at noon, Saturday, March 26 as they host Clarke University.
