Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer scores 4 for second-straight win

Men's Soccer won their second straight and did so in convincing fashion Saturday night.

The Ravens defeated the Briar Cliff Chargers 4-0, scoring two goals in each half.

The fireworks started early as the Ravens struck first just over 5 minutes into the contest. Diego Acuna passed a ball forward to Dylan Posada, who one-touched it into the box and JJ Johannsen tracked it down, heading it into the goal.

A minute later, Adem Aroua doubled the Ravens lead with a gorgeous bending shot from the top of the box that curled past the Chargers keeper. Just 7 minutes into the contest, the Ravens were up 2-0.

The Ravens were in a similar position this past Wednesday, taking a 2-0 lead against Hastings only to see the Broncos tie the contest in the second half. The Ravens earned a 3-2 lead in that game, but they didn't want to let the Chargers back into it on Saturday.

They showed exactly what they learned from the match three days prior by controlling the second half just like the first.

The Ravens added to their lead 24 minutes into the second half, and it was eerily similar to the goals in the first half. Justin Morales slipped a nice pass forward to Aroua, who chipped the keeper for his second goal of the night. Like the first half, the Ravens tacked on a second goal just a moment later when Daniel Wee took a deflection and beat the keeper to give the Ravens a 4-0 lead with 21:45 to play.

Noah Reuscher earned a clean sheet in goal for the Ravens, making 4 saves.

The Ravens outshot the Chargers 16-7, putting 8 shots on goal.

With a record of 3-2-1, the Ravens will open up conference play at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 at home against Park University.
