Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer drops final non-conference match

Women's Soccer dropped their final non-conference match Saturday evening.

The Ravens were defeated 1-0 by the Concordia Bulldogs despite creating more offensive opportunities.

The Ravens put forward more pressure than the Bulldogs in the opening 45 minutes, but were unable to find a goal.

After the teams entered the halftime break scoreless, the visitors broke tie with 32:36 to play in the match. Ellie Eason dribbled into the box and used her left foot to put one in the upper left side of the goal to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

Though the Ravens continued to press forward, outshooting the Bulldogs 14-7 and 6-3 with shots on goal, the home side was unable to find an equalizing goal. Rachel Beffa led the Ravens with 5 shots while Kourtney Koc had 3 shots.

Beffa had a couple opportunities in the first half, but had shots go off the crossbar and just to the left of the goal. Emily Shephard stepped forward to take a free kick for the Ravens with under a minute to play prior to halftime, but her shot also clanged off the crossbar and the teams entered the break scoreless.

In goal, Olivia Berry saved two of three shots against her. Unfortunately for the Ravens, Concordia's Kalie Ward made 5 saves to make the Bulldogs single goal stand up.

The Ravens (3-3) remain home for their next contest, the Heart Conference opener at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 against Park University on Legacy Field.
