Raven Volleyball earned their second win in Heart play on Saturday morning, beating Mount Mercy University 3-1 inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
On the heels of a conference-opening win over Clarke the night before, the Ravens earned wins of 25-22 and 28-26 before MMU took the third set 25-16 to extend the match. Benedictine sealed the win in set four, winning 25-21, to move to 2-0 in the Heart and 7-3 overall.
The Ravens finished the match with 64 kills offensively. Three players reached double figures, led by Joslyn Lewis with 16 kills. Mary Pat Taylor added 14 while Sabrina Oncins finished with 12. The Ravens tallied 63 assists on the match, with Marea Wortmann recording 29 while Marissa Mantz added 28.
Kristijana Istuk anchored the Ravens backline defense with 24 digs as four players reached double figures. Taylor finished with 23, Oncins added 20 and Wortmann finished with 10. Lewis and Haylie Dickerson added a solo block each to round out the Ravens defensive efforts.
Benedictine steps out of Heart play on Tuesday night, hosting the University of St. Mary at 7 p.m. inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium at 7 p.m. A junior varsity game is also scheduled between the two schools, starting at 5 p.m.
