Men's Basketball dropped a home contest Saturday evening.
The Ravens lost 74-61 to the visiting Concordia Bulldogs to move to 1-2 on the season.
The Ravens trailed by 3 points after a defensive first half. The Bulldogs limited the Ravens to 28.1% shooting from the field in the opening half, and Brycen LaRue made the only 3-pointer for the Ravens, as the team shot 1-of-9 from deep in the opening 20 minutes.
On the other end, Concordia was 36.4% from the field, but the Ravens had active hands and forced 12 turnovers by the visitors to go into halftime down just 26-23. Preston Reynolds had 9 points to lead the Ravens in the first half.
The Bulldogs increased their lead to 16 points, 52-36, by the second half media timeout. The visitors found their shooting touch against the Ravens in the first 10 minutes of the second half, hitting 5-6 from 3-point range to push their lead to double-digits. Meanwhile, the Ravens shooting struggles continued as they were just 2-17 from deep.
The Ravens fought back in the final 10 minutes of the contest. Jack Vander Woude hit a 3-pointer with 2:04 to play that pulled the Ravens back within single-digits for the first time since early in the second half, but the Bulldogs immediately answered. Any time the Ravens made a charge, Concordia had an answer and went on to win by 13 points.
The Ravens were led by Reynolds who had 14 points and 12 rebounds. He was joined in double-figures by Ahmad Louis who had 10 points to go along with 4 steals. The Ravens shot 35.8% from the field and 25% from 3-point range, and were outrebounded by the Bulldogs 50-34.
