Men's Basketball dropped an overtime game at home Tuesday night.
The Ravens lost to the Peru State Bobcats, 62-60.
The Ravens held a lead for a large chunk of the game, holding the high-scoring Bobcats well below their average of 80 points per game heading into the contest.
The Bobcats took their first lead of the second half with 3:44 to play in the game, and went in front 49-46 with 3 minutes to play. Gino Corridori made back-to-back baskets for the Ravens, including a 3-pointer, to give the Ravens a 51-49 lead, but two free throws by the Bobcats with 12 seconds to play sent the game into overtime.
In overtime, the Bobcats took a 3-point lead but Preston Reynolds tied the game with a basket and free throw after a foul. The Bobcats answered to take another 3-point lead and this time the Ravens were unable to claw back, losing by 2 points.
The Ravens took a 31-24 lead into the halftime break thanks to a solid defensive performance to close out the half. The Ravens held the Bobcats without a field goal for the final 10 minutes of the half – the only Peru State points came from four free throws. In that timespan, the Ravens turned a 2-point deficit into a 7-point lead.
The Ravens lead was extended to 13 points at one point in the second half, but a scoring drought that lasted over 7 minutes allowed the Bobcats went on a 13-0 run, taking a 47-45 lead on a 3-pointer. The game remained tight down the stretch and eventually went into overtime.
Braden Belt had a team-high 18 points for the Ravens. Corridori added 13 points and Reynolds had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Ravens (2-4, 1-2 Heart) will be back in action for a Saturday, Nov. 25 contest at Southwestern.
