WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Women's Lacrosse scored 8 second-half goals to outscore (4) Keiser in the second half but came up just short on Monday.
(1) Benedictine used 20 shots to score 12 points, but their comeback effort fell short as the Seahawks earned a 13-12 win.
After Keiser opened the scoring, Benedictine scored two straight from Kaylen Moore and Chanterra Allen to pull ahead 2-1.
By the half, the Seahawks held a 7-4 lead scoring two goals inside the final minute of the half to pull ahead by three at the break.
The teams traded goals in the third quarter before Benedictine went on a 4-0 that stretched into the fourth quarter and cut their deficit down to 11-10.
While Benedictine did manage to outscore Keiser 3-2 in the fourth quarter, the Ravens comeback effort fell short as the Seahawks were able to hold off a last-second free-position shot by Benedictine to earn the win.
Moore led the Ravens in scoring with 5 goals and 1 assist. Allen added 5 goals while Solei Geist and Courtney Frankfurth added one goal each.
Gianna Stalletti recorded 16 saves in the win with 12 ground balls. Moore led the Ravens with 5 draw controls while Kiera Russell and Claudia Garcia recorded 3 each. Moore, Russell, and Sloane Poindexter led the Ravens with 2 caused turnovers each as the Ravens finished with 12.
Benedictine remains in Florida for their next two games. They will take on (RV) Siena Heights on Wednesday back at Kesier before traveling to Ave Maria on Thursday to take on (RV) Ave Maria.
