DES MOINES – A pair of unassisted goals pushed Men's Soccer to a win in their Heart opener on Saturday afternoon on the road, as the Ravens knocked off No. 18 Grand View University 2-1.
Grand View scored during the 19th minute of the match and held that lead through halftime. Benedictine hit the equalizer during the 52nd minute on a goal from Jeronimo Pelaez and then scored what proved to be the game-winner during the 83rd minute on a goal from Kajubi Kalanzi.
Benedictine held a 13-10 advantage in shots with 6 shots on goal.
Noah Reuscher earned the win in goal for the Ravens. After giving up the early goal, he finished with a total of 4 saves over 90 minutes.
The Ravens return home for their next two matches, hosting Graceland at 7:30 on Sept. 20 before hosting Culver-Stockton College on Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. as part of Family Weekend on campus. The Ravens will also celebrate Senior Day on Sept. 23 against the Wildcats.
