Men's Basketball picked up their second-straight win on Wednesday.
The Ravens topped the (RV) Central Methodist University Eagles 66-47, closing out the game in dominant fashion.
The game was tight through the first 30 minutes of the contest, but the Ravens turned things on in the final 10 minutes. Haggan Hilgendorf knocked down a pair of free throws with 10:06 to play to give the Ravens a 41-38 lead, and what turned out to be the start of a 12-0 run for the Ravens.
In the run, Braden Belt made a couple free throws then knocked down a basket, and then was fouled on another made bucket and hit the free throw. Then Brycen LaRue scored and added a free throw.
After that run was snapped by the Eagles, the Ravens closed out the contest on a 15-7 run to earn the definitive victory.
Gino Corridori had his highest-scoring game as a Raven, notching 22 points to go along with 10 rebounds to earn a double-double. LaRue and Belt each added 14 points as the Ravens shot 44.4% from the field.
Defensively, the Ravens held the Eagles to 31.1% shooting and their 47 points was by far their lowest of the season, which was previously 71 points.
The first half went well for the home side as the Ravens took a 28-25 lead into the break. The Ravens shot 48% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, thanks in large part to solid passing; the Ravens notched 6 assists on their first eight baskets and had 7 assists in the first half. The Ravens finished with 14 assists in the game.
Defensively, the Ravens held the Eagles to 36.7 shooting in the first half, and well behind their typical scoring pace. CMU entered the night averaging 90.7 points per game.
The Ravens (6-12, 5-10 Heart) will look to keep the momentum going with a 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 contest at William Penn.
