Women's Lacrosse locked up the Heart of America Regular Season Championship in convincing fashion Friday afternoon.
The No. 10 Ravens defeated the (RV) St. Ambrose University Fighting Bees, 23-4, to finish their Heart schedule with a perfect 5-0 record while dropping the Bees to 4-1 in conference play.
The Ravens rattled off the first 5 goals before St. Ambrose scored two in a row. The Ravens answered with 3 more goals to close out the first quarter with an 8-2 lead.
It wasn't until the 6:35 mark of the second quarter that the Bees scored again, but by that time the Ravens held a 13-3 advantage. The Ravens held a comfortable 15-4 lead at halftime, then 19-4 after three quarters of play.
Chanterra Allen had a team-high 7 goals to go along with 2 assists for the Ravens. Kaylen Moore scored 5 times and added 2 assists, Kiera Russell had 4 goals, Elizabeth Pluta had 4 goals and a pair of assists, and Margaux Gelbach notched 3 goals.
The Ravens split time in goal as Molly Owen recorded 5 saves and Gianna Stalletti had 3 saves.
After suffering a three-game losing streak in early March, the Ravens (11-3, 5-0 Heart) have now strung together eight wins in a row as they gear up for postseason play. They'll host the first round of the Heart of America Postseason Championship on Saturday, April 17.
