Men's Soccer used a late goal to earn a draw at home Saturday night.
The (19) Ravens found themselves down 2-0 in the second half but scored twice in the final 17 minutes to earn the 2-2 draw.
Down 2-0, the Ravens offense finally had an answer in the form of a penalty kick. Norberto Montero was fouled in the box and then stepped to the spot to convert the PK to cut the Vikings lead in half in the 74th minute.
The Ravens got exactly the bounce they needed in the 83rd minute when Diego Acuna's shot couldn't be corralled by the Vikings keeper and Eliah Froeyland was in place to knock the rebound into the net to tie the match, 2-2.
The final 7 minutes were intense as each team looked for a game-winner, but the final whistle blew with a 2-2 draw.
The teams played a scoreless opening 45 minutes, but it was the Vikings that created the more dangerous scoring opportunities. Grand View put 3 shots on goal but Noah Reuscher, who started between the pipes for the Ravens, was up to the task to keep the Vikings off the scoreboard.
Offensively, the Ravens generated five corner kick opportunities but did not put a shot on goal.
The Vikings pressure early in the second half paid off as just 3 minutes into the second half the Vikings broke through for the game's first goal to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Grand View doubled their lead with just over 30 minutes remaining, playing a quick touch wide and scoring from the right side to make it 2-0. However, the late Ravens goals leveled the score for a draw.
Next up for the Ravens (8-2-1, 3-0-1 Heart) is a 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 home match against (25) Baker University.
