Men's Basketball fell to the top team in the Heart of America Conference at home Wednesday night.
The Ravens lost to the No. 12 Baker University Wildcats, 70-47, as the Wildcats remained unbeaten in Heart action.
The Ravens struggled to get shots to fall in the first half, connecting on just 7-of-28 from the field and 2-14 from 3-point range.
Defensively, the Ravens held the Wildcats to 3-13 from 3-point range in the first half but the visitors scored 14 in the paint and shot 43.3% overall in the opening 20 minutes. Baker outrebounded the Ravens 23-15 in the first half, limiting the Ravens to just 2 second-chance points.
The Ravens offense improved in the second half as they finished the night shooting 31% from the field. They never were able to find the stroke from long range, shooting 20.8% from 3-point land.
The Ravens did hold the Wildcats 12 points below their scoring average on the season despite Baker knocking down six 3-pointers in the second half. The visitors finished with 34 points in the paint and turned 13 Ravens turnovers into 19 points.
Brycen LaRue was the only Ravens player to finish in double-digits, scoring 13 points in the loss. Deaglan Sullivan added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, and Ezrah Vaigafa had 5 points, 4 boards and 3 assists.
The Ravens (6-9, 5-6 Heart) will be off for a week, returning to action at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 back at home against Peru State.
